Back from Holidays!

Hi everyone! I am back from Italy and Scotland.
Holidays have been short but intense. This is just a short welcome post with a few pics of Scotland, for I can't write much at the moment. My right hand was operated on 3 days ago and I can't move it much due to the stitches. Guess who operated on it? Our friend and blogger The Doctor ;-). I got VIP treatment and was made to doze off during the operation, so that I didn't realise anything at all! Thanks Doc, as you see, I am typing to exercise my swollen fingers ;-).
In the pics top to bottom and left to right: Typical menu along the Royal Mile, view of Edinburgh from Arthur's Seat, Arthur's Seat, stop at a Whisky centre on our way back from the Highlands, Loch Ness, view of Edinburgh from the Castle, The Three Sisters (Glencoe). More pics on my usual Flickr page ;-)
seeya soon! Monica

Hi Estela, welcome back to the blog,
Scotland is a beautiful place. So far, my favourite in the UK (but then I must say I still have to see some places there, like the islands, Cornwall, Wales...).
Nothing serious happened to my hand, a bump showed up on my right palm just before the holidays and Doc told me he could remove it before I started September exams. Still have stitches on, but I can assure you my hand is being looked after in the best possible way ;-). I will soon post a mysterious object from Sabine heehehhe. seeya soon

Hi! Good morning!
My summer vacations are ending. Next Monday I return to work, and I don't feel like nothing at all. At least, it was a great summer, and I hope the same for you.
I have pending some trips to UK, so I'll ask you some information.
By the way, do you know anything about the Listening exam, like by example, the keys?
Well, have a fast recovery.
Bye!

See you soon

Hello again!

I'm sorry Monica, to make you work overtime, but I have a doubt...

Can we use "I'd rather" with a different time from the present? Such as: "I'd rather have seen the film".

Thank you very much!!

My personal effort is still on holidays.
I only hope that it isn't as difficult like in June (overall the first part).
Bye!

One question for Estela. Is the girl of your icon Henrietta from "Gunslinger girls"?
Thanks!

Estela said...

Nope, Miguel-kun. She's Rei Ayanami, from the masterpiece Evangelion. You must read (not in spanish) or see it because it is fantastic!

See U!

Estela, sorry for my belated response, I am busy 12 hours a day with That's English exams this week.
As to your question, yes, you can say "I'd rather have seen" (and other infinitive tenses with a change in meaning of course "I'd rather go to Paris", I'd rather be sunbathing right now". ;-)

Hi Monica!!
I hope your hand is better. I think Doctor has done a good job jeje. My sister (the nurse) works in the operating room also.
You have visited a lot of beautiful places!! You are lucky!!
This summer I have been studying and working and I haven't had a lot of time to write in the blog.
It's a pity.
I will see you in the school of languages.
A big hug!!

oK, Monica, don't worry. Thank you very much ^^ I'm, in fact, studying for the deathly exam and your help is really handy. I'd rather be sunbathing or sleeping right now, but I need to work harder in order to pass it ;)

Otherwise, veronica, if you like the primitive arts, you must go to Stonehenge, which is not too far from London :)

See you in the exam, guys!
